Retro Bottles

Retro Bottles got shape in the beginning of the 2000s in collaboration with Alma Jantunen and Johannes Rantasalo of Lasisirkus, who were working in Nuutajärvi. I drew, Alma and Johannes blew shapes and chance too had its share in the creative work. I filled the shapes with liquids extracted from Finnish berries (rowans, currants, cherries, cloudberries, etc.). Suomi Liquor acted as the solvent. The liquid artworks have travelled in numerous exhibitions in for instance Kuopio Museum's tower and Gallery Loop in Helsinki's Lapinlahti. Still the bottles are travelling, currently on the windowsill of my studio in Syrjälä where they can be seen during Mylly's Open Doors in autumn 2021.
